2024 Kia Carnival Leaked Ahead of Debut, Confirmed for India Launch

The Kia Carnival will make its return to the Indian market the following year, and the vehicle that is en route to our shores will shortly make its debut in front of an international audience. New undercover photographs of the Kia Carnival that will be sold in India have recently been discovered in Korea, providing us with an advanced look at the redesigned exterior of the MPV.

The 2.2-litre diesel and the 3.5-litre petrol engines will likely be kept for the 2024 Kia Grand Carnival for the Korean market, which uses the most recent iteration of the Opposite United design concept. The 2024 Kia Grand Carnival for the Korean market will also offer a new 1.6-litre turbo petrol/hybrid engine. It has been rumoured that the eleven-seater variation will be cancelled, but the vehicle will still be sold in Kia’s home country with various seating configurations.

The Kia Carnival was first sold in India in 2020, and the last one was taken off the lot not too long ago. Kia debuted the KA4 concept earlier this year, and its production version, the global Carnival, is now in its fourth generation. As was noted earlier, a redesign of the global Carnival is on the horizon. Since the middle of 2020, the most recent Carnival has been available for purchase in the international markets.

Despite this, Kia decided to keep selling the previous generation of the Carnival in India (the third generation) for three more years because the vehicle sales were satisfactory. Although there has been no official confirmation yet, the impending makeover carries great importance for India because it may be launched domestically in the following year. Returning to the unmasked prototype, we can see that it has undergone many changes both in the front and the back.

The redesigned front fascia includes a new grille section with vertical inserts, inverted L-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights surrounding the new headlamps, and a revised bumper with wider lower air intake and splitter-like elements; however, the bonnet appears to have been retained with the same character lines and creases as before.

Other highlights include freshly designed dual-tone wheels, a flowing side profile similar to the outgoing model, connected LED tail lamps identical to what can be seen in the recently facelifted Seltos, a modified tailgate, repositioned number plate area and an updated rear bumper with a new skid plate. In addition, the rear bumper has been upgraded to include a new skid plate. The interior will have a more upscale appearance because of the fewer physical buttons, and the quality of the surface materials may also be upgraded.

In addition to these aesthetics, there are chrome embellishments on the sides of the vehicle, and the style of the alloy wheels has been updated to be similar to those found on more recent Kia models, particularly the born-electric SUVs such as the EV5 and the EV9. The higher trim levels will have a dual sunroof layout and roof rails installed as standard equipment.

Inside, both the instrument panel and the technology will be updated, and a wider variety of seating options will be available. There has been discussion over adding additional amenities, such as twin curved screens for instrumentation and infotainment, and safety technology, such as ADAS. The Carnival will receive new seats modelled after those seen in the EV9.

We anticipate that the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 200 hp at its peak and 440 Nm of peak torque will remain in India while fulfilling the most recent pollution criteria. It will be paired with an automatic gearbox with eight different gear speeds.

As the global debut draws closer, you can anticipate more information regarding the India-bound Carnival to emerge. The MPV will be positioned between the Toyota Innova Hycross and the Toyota Vellfire in India. Therefore, it will not have a direct competitor.
