High Demand Alert: Honda Elevate CVT Sees 6-Month Waiting Period

After its debut, the Honda Elevate waiting list has grown significantly, with about 65% of bookings for CVT variants.

With Elevate, Honda returned to the SUV market and entered the fiercely contested compact SUV segment. Honda Elevate stands apart in this competitive market by offering low prices. Indian SUV customers have noticed this, as Elevate’s waiting time is approaching six months.

Honda Elevate Waiting Period Hits 6 Months

Reservations had already begun two months before the Honda Elevate’s scheduled debut. Due to Elevate’s value, interest and bookings have surged since official prices were announced. The Honda Elevate waiting time is now only about six months long.

The Honda Elevate SUV has four trim levels: SV, V, VX, and ZX. All costs are ex-sh and range from Rs. 11 lakh for the entry-level SV trim with a petrol manual combo to Rs. 16 lakh for the top-spec ZX trim with a petrol CVT combo. In a recent post, We indicated how much value top-spec ZX trim offers compared to competing top-spec variations.

However, not all variations have the same waiting time. Only the ZX trim at the top and the VX trim at the bottom have a six-month waiting period. Customers are receptive to these trims because of their inherent value. For instance, the Honda Elevate ZX is the cheapest compact SUV with ADAS.

However, the waiting period for lower SV and V trims is only about two to three months. Approximately 60% of reservations are made for VX and ZX versions and 65% for CVT variants. The length of the wait also depends on the location. So, it makes sense to call the nearby dealership.

The compact SUV to beat?

In a previous article, we contrasted the base SV variant of the Elevate with the base variations of several competing compact SUVs. Elevate SV offers a lot of extras right in the base version. No matter the trim level, Honda only offers a 1.5L NA petrol engine with 119 horsepower and 145 Nm output. There are two available transmissions: a 7-step CVT and a 6-speed manual transmission. Honda estimates its manual gearboxes’ fuel economy to be around 15.31 km/l and its automatic transmissions about 16.02 km/l

Additionally, there are special attachments like massage and ventilated seats. The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos facelift, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and future Citroen C3 Aircross are some of the rival small SUVs that the Honda Elevate faces off against. Only Citroen is attempting to fit a third row of seats into a small SUV, a feat Honda previously accomplished with the BR-V.
