Hyundai i20 2023 facelift teased again – Launch in September 2023

Hyundai has started dropping teasers of the updated i20 for the Indian market in advance of the most anticipated holiday season. The premium hatch’s current version made its debut in 2020, and now it is receiving its first significant modification since then. This iteration of the i20 has already made its debut in other nations. In the upcoming weeks, the vehicle could be launched in the Indian market as well. Bookings are anticipated to be opened by the automaker prior to the price announcement.

Hyundai i20 Facelift first teaser

Hyundai i20 released the first teaser image of the i20 facelift on their social media platforms. As per the examination of the teaser, the changes appear to be relatively small. The tweaks to the front give it a little sportier appeal. The Hyundai cascading grille has been modified, along with the bumper, side intakes, and new headlamps with identical inverted LED DRLs. Like all the latest models, the Hyundai logo has a fresh appearance. The front also resembles the i20, which is available all over the world.

The updated LED DRL system, LED headlamps, new grille, 3D Hyundai logo, and contrast-colored front splitter can all be seen in the latest teaser image for the 2024 Hyundai i20. The vehicle had already been seen undergoing testing in India, suggesting that the unveiling might be just around the corner. It will also receive new dual-tone wheels, a new rear diffuser, and an altered rear bumper.

Interior and new features

A new digital driver’s display, heated front seats, a dual-camera dash cam, and multi-color ambient lighting could be among the additional features that are added to the upgraded hatchback model. The addition of a 360-degree camera and an additional six airbags as standard equipment might make for a safer vehicle. Although Hyundai has previously announced that more than one model will eventually receive the ADAS kit in the future, it is unlikely that the i20 facelift will include this technology just yet.

An electric sunroof, a touchscreen system with a 10.25-inch display, a wireless charger, cruise control, a rear parking camera, as many as six airbags, and hill hold assist are just some of the luxuries that come standard on this already well-equipped model.

i20 facelift powertrains

The redesigned Hyundai i20 should stick with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 83 horsepower and offers an option between a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with 120 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque. While the 7-speed DCT will continue to be an available gearbox option, the 6-speed iMT might be phased out in favour of a 6-speed manual stick. On the other hand, it is quite improbable that Hyundai will offer a diesel motor for the hatchback version of their vehicle.

Hyundai i20 2023 Facelift price

The new model of the Hyundai i20 will have a pricing range that is higher than the one it currently has, which is between Rs 7.46 lakh and Rs 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The hatchback will continue to compete against other cars, such as the Maruti Baleno, the Toyota Glanza, and the Tata Altroz. You can also anticipate the i20 N Line to be updated as part of the facelift.
