Tata Curvv engine options

The Tata Curvv’s engine options have not been confirmed yet. However, we can expect to see the new petrol turbo GDi (Gasoline Direct Injection) engines developed by Tata Motors. Yes, the same new engines we saw at the 2023 Auto Expo. This indicates that the Curvv will be equipped with the same 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine as the Nexon. And for the petrol, it can have either a brand new 1.2-litre or a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol GDi engine. The new engines will offer better refinement and performance.  Either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT gearbox will be offered with each engine option.

These new turbocharged petrol direct injection (TGDi) engines can run on a 20 per cent gasoline-ethanol (E20) fuel blend and are BS6 2.0 compliant. With three cylinders, the new 1.2-litre TGDi engine will generate 125 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the new 1.5-litre TGDi engine is a four-cylinder device that produces 170 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. In the future, Tata Motors may release an electric version of the Curvv as part of its plans to increase the availability of EVs in India.

The price and launch date of The Tata Curvv

Lastly, the Tata Curvv is anticipated to be introduced in India by Q2 of 2024. The vehicle will cost a little more than the Nexon. Although Curvv’s exact price range is unknown, it is assumed to be between Rs. 11 lakh and Rs. 19 lakh (ex-showroom). For Tata Motors in India, the Curvv will be a game-changer because it will demonstrate its design expertise and innovation in the SUV market. Also, it will create a segment-first Coupe SUV offering in the Indian market.

Tata Curvv will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Suzuki Grande Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.
