Renault Kardian New Gen SUV global debut on October 25

The company has stated that the all-new Renault compact SUV, called the Kardian, will make its world premiere on October 25, 2023. Renault has already made public some teaser photographs of their SUV design, which will first be sold in Brazil and then be expanded to other emerging countries. On the other hand, pictures of the SUV’s patent that appeared online a few months ago gave us an early glimpse at how the SUV

The new Renault Kardian SUV, based on the Dacia Sandero Stepway, will be the company’s smallest SUV in many developing nations. This is especially the case given that the Kiger is not accessible in most developing markets outside India. The Renault Kardian will compete with newly announced small SUVs from other companies, such as Fiat’s Pulse, and its primary target market will be South American countries in which Dacia still needs to get a presence. The Sandero Stepway and the Kardian will share some body panels, the motor, and the CMF-B base. However, the Kardian will have a new front-end design incorporating genuine SUV design features.

Renault Kardian Exterior

Images from a patent have shown that the Kardian SUV has split headlamps, a double-layer grille, a rugged bumper with contrasting black parts, and a chin with a faux brushed aluminium skid plate. All of these features can be found on the vehicle’s front end. The C-shaped taillights at the back of the car remind me of the ones found on the Kiger. The higher grades will have luxurious features like a shark-fin antenna, roof rails, beautiful alloy wheels, and extra chrome elements.

Renault Kardian Interior

Some of the interior teasers have shown a slick dashboard design comparable to previous Renault SUVs. Among the key features are a touchscreen information and entertainment system with an 8-inch display, a drive mode selection, and a steering wheel with four spokes. The cabin’s interior features accents of faux brushed metal, wood, and piano black pieces.

Renault Kardian Powertrain

At this time, it is unknown whether the Kardian SUV will use the same powertrain configuration as the Kiger and Magnite vehicles sold in India. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will power it. It will sit underneath the Duster of the second generation, the model presently being offered for sale in Brazil. The CMF-B platform will be the foundation for the Kardian and the future next-generation Duster.

Renault Kardian India Launch

There is little chance that the future Kardian will be launched in India since the Renault Kiger is the localised version of the vehicle. The Triber MPV and the Nissan Magnite SUV are built on the substantially localised CMF-A Plus platform, serving as Kiger’s foundation. By Diwali 2025, the brand-new Duster and a new three-row model will debut in India.

Renault SUVs’ future plans for India

In the Indian market, Renault is now offering the Kiger, and it is anticipated that the all-new Duster will arrive in India by Diwali in 2025. There is also a three-row iteration that is currently being developed and will be implemented in the near future.
