Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 specs leaked before launch

It is widely recognised that the motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield, with headquarters in Chennai, is getting set to introduce the Shotgun 650 model across India. Information regarding its power figures, dimensions, and weight has been revealed before the vehicle’s launch.

The Shotgun 650 will have the ergonomics of a street bike to a greater extent. Additionally, compared to the Super Meteor 650 model, it will be shorter and narrower but taller.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be a sister product to the newly released Super Meteor 650 and will have street bike ergonomics. It is built on the same chassis as the Super Meteor 650.

Now, a newly released homologation document shows that the Shotgun 650 will be shorter (2,170 mm as opposed to 2,260 mm) and slimmer (820 mm as opposed to 890 mm) than the Super Meteor 650. Notably, the wheelbase length has been shortened by 35 mm, from 1,500 mm to 1,465 mm; however, this can also be affected by the wheels’ dimensions.

Height is one category in which the Shotgun excels, measuring 1,105 mm instead of 1,155 mm. The Super Meteor is designed to be a long and low cruiser, while the Shotgun is more of a street bike. Because of these differences, predicting that they will be designed differently is reasonable.

Even though it is not specified in the homologation paperwork, you can anticipate that the Shotgun will have a higher seat height than the Super Meteor’s comparatively small 740mm. Most importantly, we expect more rear suspension travel than the 101 mm Super Meteor offers. The Super Meteor’s 648cc parallel twin engine will be used in the Shotgun, producing the same 47 hp as the engine in the Super Meteor. You should also anticipate items like the gearing and engine tuning to remain the same.
