Changes in the Nexon EV Facelift

The Nexon EV will be the first vehicle under the new brand naming scheme for its EV vehicles exclusively. It will be known as “Nexon.ev”. It will have a modern style that resembles that of the ICE-powered model. However, the EV-specific components will be more in-depth in order to stand out more.

The split arrangement of the standard Nexon will be replaced with a fully connected LED DRL strip on the front profile. The Tata Curvv-inspired visual updates should also include the split headlight design, a new closed-off grille, and a chunkier bumper.

In the teaser, connected LED DRLs are seen operating as welcome lights, just like in high-end cars. With a unique design of alloy wheels, the rear profile should appear the same as the ICE Nexon’s.

A fresh interior with new features

The cabin of the Nexon.ev will undergo a comprehensive redesign, just like the one that was done to the ICE model. The visual modifications should include a new interior motif, shorter AC vents, the 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata emblem, and redesigned upholstery.

A new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a touch-enabled climate control panel, a co-driver seat with height adjustment, and a 9-speaker JBL sound system are likely to be included in the updated electric Nexon. The Nexon EV Max Dark Edition already comes with the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Finally, the other models will get it as well with the latest makeover.

More safety features

In terms of safety, it may be equipped with a standard set of six airbags. The vehicle will also have a high-resolution 360-degree view camera, monitoring for blind spots, and front parking sensors. All of the enhancements are included in the facelift of the ICE version of the Nexon as well.

Updated Powertrains

There will be two primary variants of the Nexon EV : the Prime and the Max. The first model utilises a battery pack that has a capacity of 30.2 kWh and is rated to travel up to 312 kilometres, while the second model uses a battery pack that has a total capacity of 40.5 kWh and is rated to travel up to 453 kilometres. Although the specifics of any upgrades to the powertrain are not yet available, we can anticipate either an extended range or increased performance. It is also possible that it will offer faster charging with better pickup.

Prices?

The 2023 facelift version of the Nexon EV will have a slightly higher price tag than its existing pricing range. Currently, the Nexon EV range starts at Rs. 14.49 lakh and goes up to Rs. 19.54 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The Nexon.ev (facelift) will be a considerably more upmarket competitor to the Mahindra XUV400 EV. The long list of extra features and a more upmarket interior coupled with a futuristic design will give an edge to the new Nexon EV facelift.
