The new Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect variant just debuted from TVS Motor Company. Several segment-first features have now been added to the company’s SmartXonnect package. Priced between Rs 86,405 and Rs 96,855 (ex-showroom), the TVS Jupiter 125 is available in the Drum Alloy, Disc, and SmartXonnect models. Only two colour options are available for SmartXonnect: Elegant Red and Matte Copper Bronze, compared to more colour options for the Drum Alloy and Disc versions.
What’s new in TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect
The upgraded dual-instrument cluster configuration with the Ntorq 125 XT scooter is now available with the new Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect scooter. Dual clusters provide Bluetooth connectivity and some additional functions that the Jupiter series did not previously offer. Its convenience features include a front glove box with a mobile charger, a side stand indicator, an engine inhibitor, and an all-in-one lock.
The dual-screen arrangement has an LCD and a TFT colour display. All vehicle instrumentation, including the speedometer, odometer, trips, fuel, and more, is displayed on the LCD screen. The second TFT screen is crucial with this display since it adds the TVS Connect mobile software for Android and iOS, enabling “SmartXtalk” and “SmartXtrack.”
Some highlights are the turn-by-turn navigation, voice help, call and message notifications, social media alerts, food and shopping app alerts, real-time sports score alerts, weather updates, and news updates. All of them let the rider remain linked to the digital world.
TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect Features
The front external fuel cap, MetalMAXX body, and LED headlamp are the Jupiter 125’s main selling points. Keeping with its slogan, “Zyada Se Bhi Zyada,” the Jupiter 125 has the most extensive under-seat storage, at 33 litres and big enough to fit two full-face helmets. Additionally, it gets one of the longest seats in its category. The ETFi (Eco Thrust Fuel Injector) provides some of the finest mileage and acceleration in the industry.
Another feature on the Jupiter 125 is TVS intelliGO, which intelligently shuts off the engine during prolonged idling at traffic lights and other pauses to improve riding comfort, mileage, and pollution reduction. The features also include redesigned turn indicators on its front, bright LED DRLs, a single-piece saddle with a pillion backrest, a headlamp cluster on handlebars, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The motorcycle commands progressive neo-masculine styling.
TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect Engine and Components
The 124.8cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that drives the TVS Ntorq also powers the TVS Jupiter 125. This engine produces 10.5 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm and 6 kW of power at 6,500 rpm. The Jupiter 125 has a fuel economy of about 50 km/l. Front telescopic suspension and 3-step-adjustable monotube canister gas-charged rear shocks serve as the suspension system. Drum brakes are standard at both ends of the braking system, with disc brakes being an option.
Other 125cc scooters that are currently being sold in India compete with the new TVS Jupiter 125, including the Honda Activa 125, Dio 125, Hero Destini 125, Hero Maestro 125, Yamaha Fascino, Ray ZR 125, Suzuki Access 125, Avenis 125, and TVS’ own NTorq 125.
